The 23rd Psalm (a closer look) Part One

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
(God is my father. He takes care of all my needs.)

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters.
(God brings peace and harmony into my life)

He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
(God makes me feel strong when I'm weak and guides me to do good things in His name)

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff comfort me.
(I will not be afraid, because God is with me. His strength and protection comfort me.)

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
(God is there for me when I'm surrounded by enemies)

Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
(God comforts me and fills my heart with overflowing love)

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
(God will love me and forgive my sins throughout my life)

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
(I will live in God's love forever)
